Yuka's mother got sick after he was born and died when her was 15 his father and him moved back to Tokyo few after her death,yuka was the odd kid in school for one he was as you call it half breed he would et teased for it he had a hard time in school,soon after his dad soon ot married to a different women she was nice but still yuka didn't like the woman it was like a replacement to his real mother.so that when he started he rebellious stage in life thats when he meet Ino Koise after Yuka got jumped after a argument with some guy,soon they became best friends.
